It's probably a little late in the "New Year" to have a resolution post but as a busy working mom, time is limited. My new years resolution is to keep up with my organization. I can be very organized at times...my problem is I am a piler, a creative mind that makes piles and piles of papers, things, or whatever! And then it gets out of control. I can't believe I am actually posting a picture of my desk in its current state but those who know me will not be surprised.
I have already started clearing and purging. The big question is will I be able to keep it a functional desk all year?

ROBOT!
Roomba or affectionly called "Robot" (on the tv show Arrested Development) is every full time working Mom's dream. This thing picked up every cheerio, graham cracker crumb, and dust bunny off the floor. The best thing, this was all done while I was at work. I came home and viola, a spankin' clean floor. Now only if it did laundry too!
(This is not a paid advertisment for Roomba).

Top 10 Moments of 2010
I've seen many blogs take a look back at favorite moments of 2010 so I decided to join in. Here are my top 10 favorite moments of 2010.
10. No more metallic butterfly wallpaper!
9. Being able to travel with Lil B to see family and friends.
8. Switching to a new school that is a 5 day position
(instead of between 2 schools like the previous year).
7. Being able to spend time with both of my Grandmothers.
6. Amazed how much I like our diy bathroom floor (not the best picture, sorry)
5. Gathering with good friends to celebrate Anne and Nels's nuptials
4. A new kitchen. No more orange countertops!
(this is a picture of what we won't be missing)
3. Celebrating 5 years with my hubby
2. Watching Lil B. grow from baby to toddler
1. Finding out our family is expanding again with the addition of Peanut 2.0.

A Year in Review
This isn't a look back at 2010 but rather a look at the first year of Lil B's life. Every month we took a picture of him in a baseball chair (that his grandmother gave him). We plan on continuing to take a picture every year on his birthday...until he protests! The video is a great visual growth chart of his first year.

So, what did happen to the kitchen?
We got smart and hired a contractor for the kitchen. We knew enough that the kitchen remodel was out of our diy skills. And with a one year old I did not want a torn up kitchen for the entire summer. With a contractor we said good bye to the orange counterops, bisque appliances and cabinets (that could not be refinished)! We also knocked down a wall between the original kitchen and an eating area to create one larger kitchen. Our house is fairly large in square footage but the kitchen was tiny....you couldn't fit two people in it. With the wall knocked down the kitchen size seems to fit the house better. Enjoy some of the before and middle pictures, post picts to follow soon.

Welcome Back to Hand Made Digital Memories
The blog is back up and running. I know all my readers have been anxious to hear...what happened to Recession Renovation? Well, we did tackle the kitchen and we did start on the master bath (more on this later). However going back to work in the fall at a new school has kept me busy along with being a working full time mom. And one more thing to add...we have another bun in the oven. Fatigue really hits me hard in the first months of pregnancy. So, needless to say the blog has been sitting on the back burner. With the new year right around the corner, I have decided to give it another go. So stayed tuned you don't want to miss out!
